Pieces might have been one of my sisters games I accidentally have on hand, haha. Though I remember playing it myself... but yeah had a "WTF is this?" moment myself when I opened that case up to take these pics and saw that. lol Unlimited Saga should be on my backlog shelf to hit up... I think I've just heard it's SO bad I guess I put it in my "sampled" pile, but I haven't touched it. I'm not sure why I have it. After playing a few SaGa games now over the years, I don't think they're for me.
That is indeed actually an old like Windows 95 release of Sonic CD and S&K. However, the Sonic CD game is a nuke on a compact disc. True story, installing that game will overwrite EVERYTHING in whatever directory you point it to. I remember it deleted a bunch of stuff I had on some old family computer once. I think it happened twice because I couldn't believe how dangerous and messed up that was, no warning notification or anything. Maybe it was supposed to be installed to a default C:/ folder or something, but I think it would have cleared out everything on the HDD that way lmao...
So after that I just used it as a CD to listen to the music for 20 some years. Still got it in my CD binder in my car.
It feels pretty good that most of my FF PSX collection is original black label releases. But I'm happiest having that with Xenogears.
bonesnapdeez "Norse by Norsewest" lol yeah, pretty wack. I beat that copy back in the day. I've still been meaning to give the SNES version a full run someday, but I always fall off of it after a few levels and think... I should just play the original again instead. You ever play the Genesis version? It has a few extra levels and different music. Pretty neat, but I'm still partial to the SNES version.

The SNES original is way better, primarily because the game was designed for the SNES controller. Gen version is still cool though.

I can only imagine me installing that game on our PC and deleting like my Dad's business files/taxes he used that computer for back in the 90s. That'd have gone over... poorly. Insane they did it that way lol

I have both of those. $1 each at Goodwill.
Funny thing is, I don't have the Genesis or Sega CD versions.

Meanwhile that Sonic & Knuckles collection is really, if we're honest, 1 game split into 3 lol EDIT: Xeogred Wait, is that the PC port that pulled those terrible music tracks they used on the Sonic Origins release that I had to mod out for the original Genesis ones?

Xenosaga III... sealed? Whoa.
Unlimited Saga is quite weird. It's very board game-ish, so it's quite divisive. I haven't put enough time into it to really say if I love it, but it definitely didn't hook me in. The only one that has fully pulled me in outside of the GB games was SaGa Frontier II. And The Last Remnant, which is totally a secret SaGa game.

Haha you guys got me looking up Xenosaga III now... $425.00 for a sealed copy on eBay. Hot dang! Kazin: Nah, I think I read that those crappy new tracks were new and even composed by some of the original composers. But the mixing was atrocious. Maybe I heard wrong though? But yeah that alone kind of killed my interest in getting Sonic Origins. And 3 is even my least favorite, but I hate forced changes like that.

I wish you all the best on your disc based collecting. Outside a few PC Engine CD games - which I'm terrified about - I've seen, in person, disc rot on one of my friend's Gamecube games, in his case Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I know cartridges will eventually degrade and become useless, but most people think that'll happen at least after I'm dead, which is good enough for me lol. Discs just rot too quickly for me to be comfortable dropping hundreds on, say, Xenosaga III.
