Bought this off eBay last night:
This is the only 360 JRPG I didn't already own. I had previously not bought it, because watching videos of this game on Youtube had always left me nonplussed. However, playing Blue Dragon Plus last night caused me to become more intrigued. Still no idea if I'll end up liking the original Blue Dragon whatever decade I get around to playing it. But this game is historically important for the platform so I guess it's worth owning in that regard.

Was never interested in that one... until now? Lost Odyssey is amazing and Mystwalker going for Final Fantasy, so this was them clearly going for Dragon Quest. Wonder how it stacks up.

The only Mistwalker game I've beaten thus far is The Last Story, and it was really good. For all the talk of Hironobu Sakaguchi, he hasn't directed a whole lot of games. The Last Story was one of them though. (Takuya Matsumoto directed Blue Dragon.) Lost Odyssey is probably Mistwalker's most significant creation though (Daisuke Fukugawa directed it).

I played through about half of it, then lost the save when my first 360 when RRoD on me. It was... okay. Not nearly as good as The Last Story.

When I bought the Yakuza remastered collection for PS4, that meant I didn't need two of the Yakuza games I had on PS3 anymore. So I sold them, but then had space for two more games on PS3 shelf as a result. I decided to target PS3 exclusives, and bought these recently: Those join quite a few other PS3 exclusives in my collection. It may well be the PS3 has more exclusives than the PS4, but that's mainly due to the architectural differences.

I need to check and see if there's anything major I'd like to add to the PS3 library before the whole thing goes crazy in price. We all know how bonkers the markets are these days, and folks panic buy sooner than later now.
That being said, stuff like Digital Devil Saga is shockingly much cheaper than it used to be, so it's not an ironclad rule that a game will continue to appreciate in value.

Yeah, I've wanted to target some more PS3 exclusives myself someday. The only PS3 game I own to play now is ICO remastered.
The PS2 Genji was solid. A technical marvel graphically. But everything I've seen and heard about the PS3 sequel is that it's nothing special. Probably still worth a look though.

It's not, honestly. I try to get into it, and it just doesn't feel nearly as good or polished as the PS2 game. But I didn't exactly break the bank for it, so it's worth snagging it and seeing if you like it.

We all know how bonkers the markets are these days, and folks panic buy sooner than later now. This especially. Combined with more gamers than ever before, stuck at home more often than before. The reprint Atlus did a few years back helped.

Yeah, I know they did a reprint of SMTIII as well, and that dropped the value quite a bit. Now if they'd do that for SMT IV: Apocalypse... (News flash, they won't, but a remaster announcement for, say, both SMT IV games would likely drop the price fast.)
