Brutal but probably true. Don't think I've ever finished a proper Wario Land game from start to finish.

I beat OG Wario Land on my Game Boy when I was a kid back when it was Super Mario Land 3 and not its own series yet. I think it was one of the first games I beat in single-player. I've never touched any of the sequels, but it was definitely a big game at the time. No surprise since SML2 was the GB's killer app in the early '90s.

I like Wario Land quite a bit more than that. They're all a bit weird, so I agree with that aspect, but I liked poking around for the hidden treasures in the VB game, and I think it's one of the stronger games in the series. If memory serves, Ex doesn't care for Wario Land 4 either, and I had a blast with it as well, so it really is just a matter of different tastes. If you don't like it, it's all good! (I've beaten all the main series, and both Wario World and the first Wario Ware.) It really is the "killer app" for the VB, though. I wish there had been more on the system to see what it could have really done. It's too bad that blue LEDs were still very new at that time - I figure they'd have been too expensive to make, but I also think color is about the only thing that could have saved it. Or maybe use green instead, dunno. It's sad that it was such a failure, both in how Nintendo memory-holed it and how Gunpei Yokoi left the company in disgrace despite all his other fantastic contributions to the industry.

Far as Wario games I've beaten:
1994 - Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land (GB) 1995 - Virtual Boy Wario Land (VB) 1998 - Wario Land II (GB) 2000 - Wario Land 3 (GBC) 2003 - Wario World (GC)
The GB/C/VB games were decent 7/10 material. The GC one I gave a 5/10.
I didn't enjoy Wario Land 4 (2001 GBA) enough to finish it. I've not played Wario: Master of Disguise (2007 DS) or Wario Land: Shake It! (2008 Wii) yet. I guess it's been sixteen years since we last got a Wario platformer game? Maybe Wario will get his due on Switch 2.
I've also beaten these WarioWare games:
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! (2003 GBA) WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! (2004 GC) WarioWare: Twisted! (2005 GBA) WarioWare: Touched! (2005 DS) WarioWare: Smooth Moves (2007 Wii)

Oh, wow, that has been a while. Seems like WarioWare kinda killed off the platformers. And I don't think they were super performers in the latter years, either - I'm guessing Shake It!'s numbers weren't spectacular.
I did not love Master of Disguise. Didn't finish it, but have played it for a bit.

Yeah, from what I was looking at, the GB/GBC/GBA games sold very well but the latter entries had worse and worse sales, to the point of becoming pretty niche games. I think the OG is still the highest-selling, which makes sense since it was SML3 - SML1 & 2 sold an insane amount of copies for the time, they're the top GB sellers along with Tetris and some of the Pokemons.

SML 1 & 2 sold an insane amount of copies for the time Well deserved, they are great portable platformers. Good enough that I've beaten both multiple times, which is not something I usually do. Really liked the experimental nature of both.

3DS games look really nice on a 4K OLED monitor.
I had been wanting to try 3DS emulation for a while, and finally got around to it a few weeks ago. This was a very enjoyable play through of Ocarina of Time. I try to replay it every 4 years or so. I'll post more thoughts and impressions soon.

Some bad news:
Of course, hopefully the Yuzu authors have dotted all their i's and crossed their t's and Nintendo doesn't have a leg to stand on. I love Ninty for their games, but detest their emulation stances.
(Also, I learned today that there's no good way to pluralize lower-case letters - general practice is to use an apostrophe, but it's not a contraction, it's a plural. But then you type is and ts, and it doesn't look right, and you wouldn't dot a capitalized I, so... ha. English, man, whatcha gonna do?)
