Only reason I have two Switch Pro controllers is because the second one was on some crazy sale when Smash dropped. I wonder how well the Wii U Pro controller works with Steam and everything though? I liked how the layout of that one was like an SNES controller too. Never had an issue with mine, though that glossy finish is annoying. Might try using it next time. I had to get a USB adapter to get the Wii U pro controller working with Steam myself. There is some freeware you can use to get your PC to think it’s a 360 controller, but I personally found it super inconsistent to get it to initially sync.

Yooo! I'm sure it won't last, but I just hit the Steam top 10 reeling in a few more achievements tonight.

I got it tonight by doing the 40-Minute Speedrun achievement (along with getting a riding MMX styled armor through the entirety of one level for another). No game overs either! It was pretty breezy honestly since I know the game really well at this point haha. I just need to beat Mirror Mode now which should be interesting, then there's just some weird miscellaneous achievements.

How does it stack up compared to Hard Corps or Contra III Hard Mode?

Quality wise I might like this just as much as the Contra's. I also realized, as awesome as the Contra OST's are, there's a few levels here and there with throwaway tracks. Initially Blazing Chrome's OST didn't blow me away at first, but it's been a massive grower actually. It sounds a bit more like arcade tech, than SNES/Genesis tunes. In replaying it a few times through now, I get super pumped getting to several parts just for the killer music. Playing Contra Rebirth and dabbing back into Hard Corps / Contra 3 (Hard) this week, one huge thing stands out that I think you in particular would appreciate Sarge; Blazing Chrome has more "level" in those levels. In comparison it feels a bit less chaotic than the Contra's and more straightforward, but each level still has some tricks, mid bosses, and cool twists and turns. I love how expansive most of the levels are and flow. Rebirth had some levels (like stage 3) that I totally hated and I think you sometimes have to be in the mood for the onslaught of trial and error minibosses in Hard Corps / Contra 3. I'd say the Blazing Chrome levels are almost like Mega Man X sized perhaps, so definitely a little longer and simpler than Contra levels. EDIT: Heck, might be easier to say Blazing Chrome's level flow feels a bit more like OG Contra and Super C, perhaps. Despite its 16bit look. Difficulty wise, I think it's a lot easier though. I'm not sure how frequently you get 1-ups via score but it seems fairly often. I think the game might tax you out at 9 though and you can run into some boss moments that'll sink several lives (even I did on the 3D stage boss tonight, took a hit losing some gun power ups which made the fight tougher). But yeah. Hardcore which has limited continues and only gives you 3 lives to start with took a few runs to get down, so that was really fun. But I think the 16bit Contra's are probably harder in general. I'm all over that physical Switch release and will force my friends to co-op with me sometime.

Sounds pretty great, in that case. I know I like a lot more stage, so when Contra 4 did that, I was pretty happy. Like I said, this is definitely on my list, and if it doesn't go really cheap digitally before a physical version comes out, I'll be jumping in at that point.
You mentioned something about issues on Switch before, though, I believe? What was the problem there, and have things been fixed up?

You mentioned something about issues on Switch before, though, I believe? What was the problem there, and have things been fixed up? - First level is missing a background layer in one area and seems to be a random bug - Slowdown on a snow level from the snow flakes - Slowdown on one boss that has a flamethrower-like attack, the flames are being modified into pure sprites (and look cooler actually) - Bullet casings from the guns are missing
I just double checked the DF Retro video and he notes that all of these are being addressed and will be patched. Along with being fixed for the Limited Run release.
Thankfully, doesn't seem like a serious issue with the Switch not getting along with Unreal Engine (Bloodstained), so I imagine these will be easy fixes and every version will be the same quality.

Wow, this sounds like a game I didn't know I wanted. I'll definitely check this one out. Congrats on breaking into the top ten, Xeogred!
