I think the ultra low latency wireless video transmission tech Nintendo perfected for the Wii U remains magical. It even goes through walls effectively covering the interior of a house. It's true though, the Wii U is not a true console/handheld hybrid as the Switch is. I think Wii U is going to be one of those consoles that was ignored in its day but 25 years later people are going to adore it. Hence I keep thinking it'll be the next Sega Saturn in ways, haha.
It has so many bizarre ports too. I actually played Deus Ex Human Revolution on it and that version was kind of neat. It randomly has Mass Effect 3...

Or maybe more like the next Sega Dreamcast, since virtually all of its exclusives got ported later. Oh and also the Dreamcast has a screen inside the controller.

since virtually all of its exclusives got ported later I thought that too, until I did more research recently, while looking up Switch games I wanted to buy. There's still a fair amount of Wii U games that remain exclusive. As far as I know: Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival Devil's Third Game & Wario
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
Mario Party 10
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
NES Remix Pack Nintendo Land
Paper Mario: Color Splash
Pokémon Rumble U
Sonic Lost World Splatoon
Star Fox Guard Star Fox Zero The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Wii Fit U Wii Party U
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Yoshi’s Woolly World ported to 3DS not Switch ZombiU
XCX is the most killer exclusive app currently.

Yoshi's Woolly World got a port to 3DS, and ZombiU got a port to PC/PS4/XB as Zombi. Not sure on the others, though.
I really feel like XCX is the one that most needs a port - they should be able to plunk it down on Switch and probably will when they need another gap filler, much as they did with the remake of the first Xenoblade.

I'm still hopeful XBX can happen. It's one I think Nintendo, Monolith Soft, or some staffer out there at some point has had to comment on. But you never know with cases like this. I was convinced Skyward Sword was never coming, but it finally did.
XBX utilized the gamepad screen for managing a detailed map system though and some other stuff. The game also had a LOT of integral online features. Even though I played it so late I think all the servers/online players were done by then, so you're not soft locked or whatever. But I can see how this one could be a real mess to port without completely retooling some stuff probably.
But yeah, the entire Xenoblade franchise on one platform would be pretty sublime. I wager XBX didn't sell much due to the WiiU's lack of appeal, but thankfully that didn't sink the IP or anything. It deserves a second chance.
Despite it still having XB1's clunky cooldown/Arts bar for the combat, everything about XBX's combat felt 10x better and was pretty rad. And the mecha combat/navigation was freaking amazing. I also crack myself up thinking how the last zone, looks like an evil realistic/demonic take on a Bowser level. Huge volcanic area with a bunch of sci-fi enemy base installations throughout. That area was really cool.

XeogredDo any of the other Xenoblade's let you have your own mechs? Or was XBX the only one to do that?

Xeogred Do any of the other Xenoblade's let you have your own mechs? Or was XBX the only one to do that? Only XBX and to be honest, if you've heard the legends that it takes about ~30-40 hours to get them, it's true. And I beat the game around 59 hours, so you don't get to use them a ton if you're just main lining like I did.
If there's a problem with XBX, is that the story is like... reading a prologue, maybe 2-3 random pages in the middle, then reading the epilogue. lol, it's got some cool characters, neat moments, interesting world building/setting, but yeah. I can't even name the main villain now or much at all. I don't care about directly told storytelling in plenty of games like Souls, Metroid, or whatnot, but when it comes to XENO I have different expectations. You even make a blank create a character in XBX, which was ultra bizarre for Xeno too.
So that's one thing I hope changes big time with a potential XBX2. Ditch the silent create a character protagonist and give it a real forced narrative.
XB1 had those weird mecha enemy designs, I didn't love. XB2 is similar but has way cooler enemy designs. In XB3 you can fuse in battle into those Ouroboros units I posted about earlier.
But overall, XBX had the best mecha designs by far. Pretty traditional Armored Core / Gundam styled stuff and that works best for me.
So good.

I got mine on Craigslist from a guy who bought it to play Zelda BotW, then when he completed it his wife made him get rid of it. When I first got my Switch, I played in handheld mode all the time. At that point in my life I had no TV, so I would even play with the Switch on a desk with the kickstand out and the detached joy cons in my hands. Now when I play Switch I reckon it's in handheld mode half the time, docked mode the other half. One thing about docked play: I'm not impressed with the Switch Pro Controller at all. It cost $40 and started drifting like crazy after just a few dozen hours of use. Maybe they're not all that way and I just got unlucky. I'm still disgusted that happened with a brand new 1st party peripheral, though. I remember you saying you're not much of an online gamer so you may not care about this, but the Wi-Fi chip inside the Switch sucks. I would get random latency all over the place in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate while playing in handheld mode. When I played in docked mode with an ethernet cable, the latency spikes went away. Also games that come out on both Switch and PS4 look pretty bad in docked mode. I remember thinking Doom Eternal looked amazing as a handheld game, but on the TV it looked like potato graphics. TMNT Shredder's Revenge Mega Man 11 Wild Guns Reloaded Super Mario Odyssey Sonic Mania Plus Streets of Rage 4 Donkey Kong Country (yes the SNES one) Doom Eternal Can you actually "beat" Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? I feel like I did, but I don't remember 100%. I also played a lot of endless games you can't actually beat, like Splatoon 2, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tetris 99, and Windjammers.
